Here is a bunch of things from my recent trip to Hong Kong. The first is this plate of noodles. Maybe it was because we were starving but this plate of wan tan mee - our first meal in HK was quite delicious. My only regret was that I couldn't finish the plate. HKD30

Delicious noodles
New places unsual things

I love being taken away from normalcy. When you're in a foreign country even ordinary things seem exciting and new. Here's a HK vending machine with labels of drinks I've never tried.
Lotsa food in HK

We ate lots of nice things in Hong Kong include this Pau from a Dim Sum place. It's filled with sugary custard. Very sinful and ultra delicious. We ate lots and the bill came up to HKD130 for 3 people. Very reasonable.
Silk tie galore

Check out the tie at the end with the ancient Chinese writing. I think the ties were selling for HKD100 for 4. Too bad I don't wear ties.

Imitation bag

HK is full of imitation bags and you may recognize this one. It's so yellow and black that I'd consider using it myself.
Delicious mango pudding

HK is famous also for these delicious mango puddings. Mango's are great but I especially like the Philippine mangoes. This one was nice too. I think this particular bowl cost around HKD20.
Guess what this is

Guess what this device strapped to a pole in the street does? Well at a cross walk you look at the green man to know when its ok to cross. If you're blind, maybe you listen for a walk siren which is a repeating tone at a particular speed. If you're blind and deaf, you put your finger underneath this device, and feel its vibrations. Amazing.

Even Bruce Lee likes it

The greatest martial art hero likes yellow and black. Bruce Lee is great because he doesn't just play a kung fu warrior in the movies, he IS one in real life. If you watch his biography, you'd know that he developed a martial arts style called Jeet Kune Do. He was said to be able to punch a guy across a room by moving his fist just 1 inch. This is a wax figure of him at Madame Tussaud in HK.

Themed Tuesday : Water Bottles Part I

I saw this at the Nike shop. It's really nice because it has the Asian Cup logo with the countries involved. Also yellow and black is the National colours of the Malaysian football team. The team didn't do so well but the water bottle is excellent. I really like it but I can't really justify RM19.90 for a water bottle. Sorry.

Themed Tuesday : Water Bottles Part II

This bottle I got for free, with purchase of Horlicks. It's tiny - probably fits around 300ml. You can say that I paid for the bottle and got the Horlicks for free. I've had it for a while, but never posted it because I never used it. I was collecting dust, until I took it for a bike ride. RM12 for the Horlicks.

Themed Tuesday : Water Bottles Part III

Felton is a local manufacturer of stationery and also makes polycarbonate and aluminum bottles. It's MUCH cheaper than the expensive SIGG bottles. The SIGG bottles look nicer, but this will do. Price RM10.

Themed Tuesday : Water Bottles Part IV

Saw this water drinking bottle last month and decided it should be part of a themed tuesday. I missed doing it last week so here it is now. This one is plastic, with a unique curved spout. It looks quite nice for under RM10.

A weird themed tuesday part 1

I've been waiting for this themed tuesday. In fact I have another candidate but I'll delay that another week because I have one more entry for that category. I'll begin by saying that I don't wear women's shoes, but if I did, I wouldn't wear these. This particular shoe appeals to yellow and black enthusiasts as well as Apple fan boys. It has a striking art deco inspired yellow apple at the toe, and features a rounded toe end and simple design throughout. The golden insole conveys the ultimate luxury. Price RM40.

A weird themed tuesday part 2
This is another delicate example of yellow and black with a yellow lace pattern all around the shoe. The frilly ball at the toe shows a wild and cute side to the highly-cultured simplistic yet elegant design of the shoe. Price RM40.
